As a mother of four, wife and career woman sometimes finding the time to take care of myself is difficult. A busy day doesn’t always allow you to make it to the gym, but that doesn’t mean you have to lose out on a quality workout. With a little ingenuity, you can repurpose everyday household items into weights, benches, and suspension systems, and transform your home into a gym. Here are 3 household items that we all have in our house that can easily be used in your journey to fitness:

  1. Shampoo Bottles (or Water Bottle)- Before you lather up in the shower, squeeze in a few triceps presses. If your form is good, and you keep your elbows right next to your ears, you’ll feel the burn even if the weight is light.
  2. Towel – You can use a towel to add resistance to squats, standing crunches and stretches. This will intensify your workout and get you even more results.
  3. Wall – Like I said before there are no excuses, EVERYONE has a wall. Place your back flat against the wall and bend your knees until they are parallel to the floor. Try to hold the seated position for a minute or longer. This pose will strengthen your legs, especially your quads.
