The masses have teetered for years deciding if a big butt was something to desire or hate (certain cultures more than others). A study done by ABC News had some interesting findings; they found that women with bigger backsides tend to have lower levels of cholesterol and are more likely to produce hormones to metabolize sugar. Therefore, women with big butts are less likely to have diabetes or heart problems.

And having a big butt requires an excess of Omega 3 fats, which have been proven to catalyze brain development. The researchers also found that the children born to women with wider hips are intellectually superior to the children of slimmer, less curvy mothers.

So the conclusion of the study was women with naturally big butts are smarter and healthy. So I guess Sir Mix-A-Lot was on to something – “I like big butts and I can not lie!” I’ve always loved my curves, good to know I have science on my side too.
