Sun is shining and the weather is sweet in the city of dreams: Los Angeles, California. Not to be mistaken for the love I hold toward my home city of Chicago—it’s always nice to step out of routine to experience beautiful weather and fun times that make for picture perfect posts on Instagram. I headed to The City of Angels to celebrate Kim’s bridal shower and to re-visit some of my favorite spots. Feeling inspired by the Hollywood Hills, I decided to create a city guide with some of my go-to places including fine dining, beautiful boutiques, and where to relax.

After soaking up the early morning sunrise at Santa Monica Beach in a cute Cosabella swimwear piece, I began making my way back to the hotel. I had every intention of taking a quick nap before heading to the baby shower but got slightly distracted and ended at Curve Boutique on Robertson to check out some of the new summer/spring collections. I fell in love with a Pierre Balmain piece and snatched it up—I ended up wearing it to Bootsybellows in West Hollywood for a night out with my girls.

After a night out in the town we woke up to a delicious breakfast in bed. As usual I had my oatmeal with dry fruits and a delicious Jus by Julie, to kick start another sunny day in L.A. I dressed casually in a pair of comfy Cannes Gaucho Pants and a Lucia Crop top from the Monica Rose for Lovers + Friends collection—a brand native to the city. Arriving just in time for a relaxing day at Wi Spa USA, another city secret, we got out of our west-coast inspired looks and into our robes for a lineup of massages, oil treatments, and relaxation therapy.

I saved the best for last and paid a visit to a friend and amazing designer, Michael Costello, for a quick fitting. He’s agreed to dress me for an upcoming event and I am beyond excited to wear one of his custom pieces. After a few snips here and tucks there, we ended our trip at one of my favorite steakhouses on sunset boulevard—Boa.

Needless to say, I was California Dreaming.
